Epilogue

Iowa. From the car window:

  My childhood nemesis--the horsefly:

The Mighty Miss:

My favorite house in Fairfield:

Always a pleasure for the senses to come upon a hog farm on the highway:

 State capitol in Des Moines:

Dead bugs and Bob:
As you can see, we spent A LOT of hours in the car. The one coveted picture I failed to get was of the sign for the annual "Trek Fest" in Riverside, Iowa - home of the future birthplace of Captain Kirk. Big festival every year. (I'm serious.) Dangit!

Not done yet.  Gotta end with sunsets:

Still not finished. I had to show you the bathtub/kitchen combo in our sweet suite in North Platte, Nebraska:
Now let's watch the landscape change. You've seen Iowa.  Here's Nebraska:

Hang in there guys. Just nine more hours to go:
Wyoming:
Storm coming:

Further west, the hills start to rise:

And Utah . . .

Home again, home again, jiggety jig.

  1. I'm ashamed to say, I've never taken a road trip longer than to Southern Cali. But man, those pictures have me almost convinced I need to. (Just don't tell my husband I said that, he'd be committing me to one in a heartbeat!)
